- Peel and de-vein the prawns. Wash nicely. Keep in strainer for the excess water to drain. Marinate the prawns with lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder and ginger-garlic paste for about 30 minutes..
- After 30 minutes, to the marinated prawns, add kashmiri red chilli powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder and keep it marinated for few hours or overnight..
- Heat oil in a pan. Add little red chilli powder to the prawns and fry on low flame until cooked. Remove from heat and set aside..
- For making the pickle, keep all the ingredients ready..
- Heat oil in a saucepan. Add in the finely chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger and saute on medium flame until the garlic and ginger are nicely roasted..
- Add in the masala powders and salt and fry for a minute. Add it to the cooked prawns..
- Add the vinegar and simmer for 5 minutes..
- After 5 minutes, the mixture would become slightly dry and the oil would start to float out completely. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool for an hour..
- Transfer the Spicy Prawns Pickle to a sterilized container. You can store it in refrigerator for upto a month..
