Steps to make Doi Chingri:

  1. Wash and clean the golda chingri, devein but keep the head attached. Marinated golda chingri with little amount of turmeric powder and salt. Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry each golda chingri until coloured into golden brown from both sides..
  2. Now add 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add green cardamom, bay leaf and cinnamon, saute for few minutes, then add chopped onions, fry until golden brown. Next add chopped green chillies and ginger-garlic paste, mix it and fry till raw smell gone..
  3. Then add chopped tomatoes, mix and add salt, cook for around 5 minutes till tomatoes are soft. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute them for few minutes. Then add yogurt and mix them very well. Then add 1 cup of water after 2-3 minutes add golda chingri and mix well, add chopped coriander, lower the heat and cover and cook for 5 minutes. Now add garam masala powder, ghee and fried onions mix them well and switch off the gas. Serve hot with steamed rice.
